Greasy Runtz

“I’ll take two grams of Greasy Nuts,” as I misspoke to the budtender at TreeHouse Collective. This was followed by a good laugh shared between the two of us. Greasy Runtz was one of the last strains I was able to grab before leaving Portland for a while. I was stoked to grab some of the latest from Eastwood Farms.

The appearance of Greasy Runtz displayed an almost jagged mountain formation with smooth snow-covered mountains. The color of the buds was hard to determine because the deep forest green is covered with a thick sand colored trichome blanket. When shining a bright light on the buds, the increase in visibility allowed the discovery of brown sugar granules covering everything from the deep caverns to every accessible surface of the flower.

Breaking apart the buds was like experiencing a delicacy and is an experience in and of itself. The smell on Greasy Runtz was pleasant but not bold. It reminded me of something I used to smell in my grandmother’s house. There was a unique musk with hints of sweetness and grape jelly.

The high of Greasy Runtz set in quickly and comfortably. A blissful ease moved through my body before infiltrating my mind with Zen. This strain provided a high level of happiness and brought me directly into the present moment. Everything was more tolerable. Overall, what I enjoyed the most about Greasy Runtz was the soothing body high while remaining cognitively intact. Greasy Runtz was helpful for anxiety, pain, migraines, stress, restlessness, and PTSD-like symptoms.

Another strain from Eastwood that I am a big fan of is Runtz x Horchata (Half Pint). This is a strain that was created by Wyeast genetics and is one of my favorite strains to date. The review for Eastwood’s Half Pint can be read here and my hobby cultivation page can be found here. At this point, I’d say if you see anything from Eastwoods at a dispensary in Oregon, grab it. I feel like these guys are one of the best examples of craft cannabis in Portland.
