Golden Pineapple

During my last trip to Portland, I did my routine visit to Oregrown, my first pick-up. As I so often do. I got into a conversation with one of the budtenders there delving into their knowledge of the cannabis industry and great strains. He said one of his current top choice strains was Golden Pineapple, which is sativa dominant. I normally don’t find what I’m looking for in sativa strains but hearing such a bold endorsement piqued my interest – so I decided to grab some the next day from Kings of Canna.

It looked nice in the cabinet, but the smell test was what was most memorable. She emitted a sweet and slightly funky pineapple aroma so strong – I could feel it grab ahold of my sinus cavity. When you break her open, the smell gets stronger and slightly more complex. Those musky, funky undertones really come out. Once the feelings of nostalgia subsided, I started taking the first bong rip. Her taste was sweet and sour, fruity, and smooth.

Her onset took a few minutes to set in. First, I felt her creep into my body, easing any tension.  Next, she moved into my mind, melting away any worries or stress. Surprisingly, she left me cognitively intact and capable of going on about the day – I was impressed.

The first time I smoked Golden Pineapple I was working through the feelings of being lost at sea in the world of chronic illness. Within a few minutes my pain was relieved, my mind was balanced, and I had exactly what I needed to turn the day around. Golden Pineapple helped with anxiety, depression, chronic pain, migraines, ADD-like symptoms, and sensitivity to sensory stimuli.

Golden Pineapple offered mental fuel and motivation without stimulating any anxiety. The combination of her medicinal effects was the perfect balance in a sativa, making her a great daytime strain.
